RETIRED rugby international David Wallace is set to make a comeback - in Naas.
But no, he’s not bringing his boots to Forenaughts.
Instead he’ll be one of the judges at the Strictly Naas Rugby dance competition taking place in Killashee House Hotel on Sunday, June 3, along with Fine Gael TD Tony Lawlor, and dance instructor, Leah Moran, who has led the team that put the contestants through their paces over the past seven weeks.
The evening will be compered by Shane Creevey, freshly back from Baku where he performed in the Eurovision Song Contest with Jedward. Shane, one of the dance teachers, will also be performing on the night.
Strictly Naas Rugby is a dance competition that has brought together 28 local sports, community and business figures – all first time dancers – to raise funds for Naas RFC.
Nikki Gallagher of Naas RFC and dancer said: “The last six weeks have been amazing, and far more challenging than anyone expected. Leah and her crew have been really great but have expected a high standard from all of us and a lot of commitment too.”
Tickets for this event are being sold by each dancer and can also be bought from Graces, Haydens, Hazelmere Centra and Conways on the Main Street.
