It was back to the 80s at Newbridge RFC’s clubhouse in Rosetown last Saturday night.

The club is trying to stage a comeback of the glory days of the Curragh Rugby Club (which amalgamated with Old Kilcullen to form the current club) as the place to be on a Saturday night.

It intends to throw its doors open and stage regular gigs and DJ sets this summer in order to bring Newbridge’s revellers back to the rugby club.

Last Saturday night the club was hopping to the sounds of the band Epic and DJ Miley Wickham. A barbecue kept the hungry hordes well fed.
