IT may almost mid-summer and nobody wants to think of Winter, but Naas Musical Society has little option.

Next up for the Naas group of singers will be A Celebration of Song, which will be perfomred in The Osprey Hotel, Naas, on November 6-7.

Before that the group intend to stage an open night and more information about this event will follow.

The group is already scooped no less than four Association of Irish Musical Societies nominations for their March production of “Me And My Girl.”

Some of the group travelled to New Ross for the AIMS Choral Festival to hear the announcements.

Deirdre Browne’s choreography was nominated. After an absence of ten years in Naas due to schedules clashing, Also nominated was leading man Aidan Donoghue. Julie Donnelly’s was nominated for Best Comedienne for her role as Lady Jacqueline.

Mona Conroy was nominated the Adjudicator’s Special award for her portrayal of Maria, The Duchess. The awards weekend is on in the INEC later this month and NMS members will attend.
