Naas’ Clara Traynor and Meagan Hyland from Kildare town both have work in the exhibition, which is the brainchild of gallery owner owner Dominick O’Cruadhliocht.

The Sherlock Holmes event runs until the end of the month, and includes talks on beekeeping (a favourite pastime of the great detective in his retirement) and forensic science.

Meagan, a graduate of the Limerick School of Art and design, has won acclaim for her poster work. For this exhibition, she dreamed up a set of 26 “letters” each one based on a different element from the stories

Naas artist Clara Traynor created four ink drawings for the ‘Elements of the Elementary’ exhibition. Each drawing, on handmade paper, is linked to a Sherlock Holmes mystery, but is not immediately obvious to the viewer. Clara set up her own fashion label, ‘Clara-Bella’ in 2010, and she has worked in the jewellery and clothing industry in New York.
