The annual Kilcullen River Festival will take place this Sunday, August 25, as part of National Heritage Week.
This, the fourth festival, promises to be a day packed full of family fun around the water in Kilcullen.
The highlight of the day will undoubtedly be the Raft Race which will take place on the river during the afternoon.
This year there will be a new chowder competition in the Heritage centre, the winner of which will go forward to the National Chowder Competition in Kinsale.
The River Festival will also feature a duck race and a tug-of-war competition.
There will also be local bands and entertainment to keep the crowds happy, plus food stalls featuring local produce and cooking. The festival takes place from 12 midday to 6pm, and the town will be closed to traffic.
