A garda and a journalist were chosen as the winners of the latest dancing show craze which mimics the successful TV show, writes Paul O’Meara.
Gda. Richie Finan and Stephanie Grogan, both from Naas, were chosen and the winners of the Strictly Naas Rugby show.
It was held in aid of Naas Rugby Football Club to raise money for the club.
The event was staged at the Killashee House Hotel, Naas, and was attended by approximately 1,000 people.
The winners were chosen through a combined vote of judges and a secret vote by members of the audience and the pair’s winning dance was a jive to Tutti Frutti.
A total of 17 couples (34 dancers) strutted their stuff on the stage and their performances were evaluated by judges Leah Moran of the eponymously named dance school local TD Tony Lawlor and RTE’s Brenda Donohue.
It was followed by an after show party and guests and performers danced into the hours.
