Newbridge Musical Society’s latest production took to the stage last Sunday at the Newbridge College theatre.
“All Shook Up”, a relatively new musical featuring Elvis Presley songs, will run nightly until next Saturday.
The show is directed by Sharon McNamara, the musical director is Owen C. Lynch and it is choreographed by Julianne Mc Namara.
It promises plenty of rock and roll, hip jiggling, high kicking and fantastic songs for a great night’s entertainment.
“We, the members of Newbridge Musical Society are committed to providing first class entertainment to the people of Kildare at a fraction of what you will pay in Dublin theatres,” said spokesperson Carol Duffy. The society’s Easter week show is an annual tradition in Newbridge.
Last year, its production of Beauty and the Beast earned it three nominations for the Association of Irish Musical Societies Awards, and it received four nominations the previous year for Jesus Christ Superstar.
“We have consistently received awards and nominations yearly and are immensely proud of our members who put in tremendous effort and dedication every year,” she added.
“In fact we have been ranked third in a competition of all the Musical Societies in Ireland, a very good indication of the wealth of talent in and around the Kildare region.”
The show continues nightly at 8pm until Saturday, April 6.
