MAYNOOTH Musical Society is facing a new calamity next year.
And Kilcock Musical and Dramatic Society will shortly have a huge beanstalk to mount.
After a long wait, and what was described as “several mishaps,” the Society has decided on it show for this year.
The Maynooth Society, which recently ran a variety night, has obtained the production rights to Calamity Jane.
The show is scheduled to take place in March 2013 and the final dates are expected to be confirmed shortly. Auditions will be held in late September and the for these will be confirmed after the production team is established.
The Society said there will be some changes to the production role in that the committee will be overseeing the production, the role previously held by the producer so this role will no longer be filled.
Meanwhile, in early January, the Kilcock group will stage ‘Jack & The Beanstalk’ as interpreted by Karl Harpur.
Spokesperson, Maria Fowler, said the production team will be returning from last year - director, Lorraine Murphy, musical director, Linda Tapley, and choreographer, Maria herself.
The junior registration/induction will be on Sunday 9 September at 3pm St. Joesph’s Hall Kilcock.
Audtion Pieces are available on the society website - www.kilcockms.com or email firstname.lastname@example.org for script or further information.
