THE Newbridge 200 Festival, which takes place from 6 to 16 September this year, is looking for local talent from County Kildare to participate in the bicentennial celebrations of the town.
Are you in a band, choir, dance or drama group or have a performing group based in Kildare and looking for a stage to showcase your talent? If so the Newbridge 200 festival might be the platform for you.
Described as “a great opportunity to showcase the considerable local talent of the town and the county”, organisers want to give local groups an audience for those talents. “The performing talent in Kildare and particularly Newbridge is exceptional, we want to tap into that rich artistic and performing vein and showcase it to residents and visitors alike,” said Newbridge 200 Festival Chairman David O’Reilly.
“There is a huge opportunity for the town and county to shine and the performing groups to reach a considerable local audience and show the depth of talent we have here.’ The stage will run for the two weekends of the festival and will, it is expected, provide an eclectic schedule of entertainment free to the public.”
Interested individuals and groups wishing to participate in the festival can register on the festival’s website, www.newbridge200.com.
