Leixlip Musical and Variety Groups will stage Jesus Christ Superstar at the end of this month, writes Henry Bauress.

Leixlip Musical and Variety Groups will stage Jesus Christ Superstar at the end of this month, writes Henry Bauress.

The show runs from 29 April-3 May at St Marys GAA in Leixlip.

“Things are going very well,” said spokesperson,Edel Whelan.

Last week the group ran the show from begining to end. “It is starting to shape up to be an amazing show.”

The show will be directed by Claire Tighe and the musical director is Caitriona Ni Threasaigh.

Brian Tighe will play Jesus while Chris Currid is taking on the Judas role. Jenny McCabe will portray Mary and Ross Murray, Pilate. Eoghan Kiernan (Caphias), John Dennehy (Annas), Ian Tighe (Simon), Dara McGabhann (Peter) are other main roles while Daniel Frawley, will portray Herod.

Tickets can be bought from the following pharmacies in Leixlip: Feericks, Glen Easton, Riverforest, Oaklawn and Rye Pharmcy.

They can also be booked at the box office on 087-1632268. Ticket prices are €10 on Tuesday, 29 April, and cost €15 for the rest of the shows.
