Insight Theatre Group will take to the stage this February with the Irish premiere of “Blood Relations”.
It will be staged in the Kildrought Lounge in Celbridge at 8pm from February 18 to 22.
The play written by Canadian Sharon Pollock. It relates to the children’s nursery rhyme about murderess Lizzie Borden who ‘gave her mother 40 whacks... and her father 41’.
It tells the tale of the infamous 1892 axe murder in Fall River, Massachusetts. The subsequent trial of Lizzie Borden became a media sensation and set a precedent for press coverage of trials.
The play is directed by Bill Elliffe and will be entered in the All- Ireland Full Length Festival circuit.
The cast includes Colette Kinsella, Valerie Kenneally, Dave Foley, Geraldine O’Brien, Eugene Molumby, Ann Kelly, and John Heveran.
