Casting for “The Cloak” stage-show, which stars Rebecca Storm, takes place this Sunday July 14 at St. Joseph’s Academy, Kildare town.
The spectacular production about St. Brigid’s life will be staged at St. Brigids’ Cathedral, Kildare Town, Thursday September 26, Friday 27 and Saturday 28 at 8pm.
“The Cloak” is directed by Irish artistic Director Pádraig J. Dunne.
Pádraig, who is known for his unique visionary techniques, will include an audio visual presentation as part of the production shot in beautiful locations around Ireland including Glendalough, The Curragh and Brittas Bay.
Auditions for dancers are to be held from 10am to 5pm this Sunday. Singers and actors (including children) are asked to attend from 2pm to 5pm. Contact Padraig on 086 059 2511 for more information.
The production team are looking for a Narrator - (male) character voice middle aged (imagine George Manning); Brigid (baby) 6-12 months, placid child, not startled easily, needed five nights for one scene; Brigid (girl) 6-8 years, accomplished Irish dancer, familiar to stage and taking direction; Brigid (girl) 10-12 years accomplished Irish dancer, familiar to stage and taking direction; Brigid (Woman) over 18 championship level Irish dancer; Double for Brigid’s mother - 40-50; Dubhthach - (male) over 25 championship level Irish dancer; God of fire (male) over 25 tenor singer; Clerics (male) over 25 experience actors; Patrick - (male) over 25 championship level Irish dancer; King of Leinster (male, striking, large presence) 40-50 very experienced actor; Chorus Dancers - ( Male & Female) 15 yo and over (committed, flexible with time available at short notice until show, championship level Irish dancer a must; Chorus children- (Male & Female) aged over 10, experience on stage a must. Approachable, good mannered and good with taking direction; Choir - (Male & Female) adults only, experience in choir or musical society. Flexible with time and rehearsal schedule; Malachy - (Male) 30-40 experienced actor.
