Bluegrass returns to Athy this weekend, Friday, July 12 to Sunday, July 14.

Athy’s 23rd Bluegrass Festival will take place as part of the Gathering 2013 and Athy GAA Centre is at the heart of events.

The festival kicks off with a Friday night session at Athy GAA Centre from 9pm, featuring Clem O’Brien, Bending The Strings and Watery Hill Boys. The Saturday night session at Athy GAA features Way Out West, Woodbine and the Down & Out Bluegrass Band.

Sunday’s programme at Athy GAA kicks off at 12 noon for the Bluegrass Gospel and Fest Finale, featuring Tom Corbett from the USA and The Sullivan Brothers; Clem O’Brien and Woodbine and the Down & Out Bluegrass Band.

Tickets are €15 per day or €35 for a weekend pass.

There will also be music at Clancy’s Bar, Athy Heritage Centre and Pat Dunne’s Bar.
