THE local Fianna Fail organisation staged a table quiz at the Town House Hotel to raise money for the Society of St Vincent De Paul.

There was a good turnout, particularly from Fianna Fail members both locally and beyond. The role of quizmaster was ably handled by Naas Mayor Willie Callaghan, although he at times had to contend with a lively alternative commentary on the evening’s proceedings emanating from a table in the corner of the room!

In the end Declan Brennan and the Prosperous team took the laurels with 49 points and duly collected the first prize of four vouchers for The Elms auction house kindly donated by Fergal MacCarthy.

Second were the Carmel Kelly and the “Mixed Nutz” from Sallins, who took home chocolates and fwine donated by Eurospar. Other prizes included tickets for Punchestown and four bottles of wine donated by Willie Callaghan. James Lawless, Fianna Fail local area representative donated of a bottle of Baileys Naoise O’Cearuil, new area representative for Celbridge also attended. John Miley of St Vincent De Paul lent a hand and some E700 was raised for Naas SVDP.
