FORGET the inclement weather and look ahead a night of sultry songs and balmy melodies in “Songs for Midsummer” in McAuley Place (the old convent), Naas, this evening, Friday July 27 at 8pm.

Following very successful evenings at Fota House, Cork; and Castletown House, Celbridge and a number of garden parties at Aras an Uachtarain, Highly Strung will perform at this new venue in the heart of Naas.

Highly Strung’s acoustic interpretations of classics from Caccini to Coldplay highlight a subtle signature twist that appeals to a musically curious audience. Highly Strung consists of Angela O’Toole, mezzo soprano, Jeanette Behan, flute, Lisa Dowling, violin and Mary Keenan, harp. On the night, the ladies will be joined by local singer and actor Tony McCarthy.

Summer cocktails will be served at the interval and tickets are €10, with part of the proceeds donated to Nas na Riogh Housing Association.
