LEIXLIP theatre lover, Karl Harpur, has got over 15,000 hits with a send up of a the Garth Brooks concert saga, writes Henry Bauress.

Using a group of Los Angeles based Irish actors, including Caroline Morahan, the writer/director based his short piece in the home of a couple who planned to hire a clown for a party for for the five shows. “It was great to get some of the Irish crew over here to shoot the sketch with me,” said Karl.

Within 24 hours,the number of hits on such outlets as You Tube and Entertainment rose rapidly.

Well known for his role in Kildare and Dublin theatre, Karl got married to Jenny Tighe last December.

Not so long ago he mixed with LA stars when he took part in the Toscars film festival. A parody of the Oscars, he wrote and produced CAVITY, a parody of GRAVITY and got a nomination for Best Writer.

The Brooks send up is available to watch on YouTube.

Asked by the Leader how LA is going for him, he replied: “Hustlin’ away and loving it!”
