The event will take place at the Clanard Court Hotel in Athy next October 19.

The accordion player was in Athy last Wednesday night to launch the event, along with local trad band, Hillbilly Porter.

There will be a search for ‘Ireland’s next Top Trad Musician’ in the run up to the festival.

Entrants are invited to post performance footage on the event’s Facebook page. The winners will receive an exclusive trophy and will perform onstage with Sharon at the Harvest Fleadh.

The festival aims to be a celebration of the end of the harvest, music and craft beer, and will feature brews from Eight Degrees, Trouble Brewing and the Carlow Brewing Company.
