Prosperous Dramatic Society has announced some of their plans for the coming season.
“Our summer was busier than usual; the traditional rest period was taken up with the honour and excitement of representing Ireland at the Mondial du Theatre, the World Festival of Amateur Theatre in Monaco in August. T J Duggan, director of the All Ireland One Act Play 2012 was invited to participate with his cast and crew for Bobby Gould in Hell by David Mamet. The committee were thrilled to support this venture and want to thank very sincerely all the local businesses who provided sponsorship to enable the group to take part,” said the group.
On 18/19/20/ October the group will be staging an evening of one act plays in the Theatre in Prosperous; “Lovely Head”, by Neil La Bute, directed by TJ Duggan, and “Scarecrow” by Don Nigro, directed by Billy Carey. Tickets on sale from the Prosperous Dramatic Society Box Office at 085 161 5590.
On 21/22/23 November the Prosperous Dramatic Society One Act Festival will be held. The line up is Thursday 21st November, Rush Dramatic Society, with “Cliff’s Edge”, by Paul Bearn, Insight Theatre Company with “Ghost Story”, by John Pielmeister and Yellow Moon with “Tone Clusters” by Carol Joyce Oates. On Friday 22nd November Kilrush Drama Club stage “The Beatitudes” by Kieran Tyrell, The Moate Club perform “Holy Mary” by Eoin Colfer and Ennis Players stage “The Problem” by A R Gurney. The final night will see Ballaly Players perform “Guests of the Nation” by Gary Wall and Gunpowder Productions with “What’s for Pudding” by David Tristrah. Tickets from 085 161 5590.
