The Prosperous Music Festival is back on the road.
After last year’s successful inaugural edition, there is rising anticipation of this year’s event say organisers.
In advance of the event on August 23, 24 and 25, there will be two fundraisers in the coming weeks, on April 20 and 21.
On Saturday, April 20, Christy’s Bar will be the venue with musicians such as Andy Murphy, Chris Brosnan, Zak Moran, Lyndsey Connolly, Tracey Mulreid, Darren Brereton and many more.
And on Sunday, April 21 a family fun day will take place in Dowling’s function room.
The event will include Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Bouncy Castles, Karaoke, Kids Disco, Kids Games with spot prizes and Face Painting.
Entertainment will be provided by Damien Coyne of www.sofreshentertainment.ie
The cost is €5 per child for all day access, while parents go free, with the exception of the Facepainting.
Open from 12noon to 6pm.
This event caters primarily for two to twelve year olds.
This year’s festival will include workshops, family entertainment and feel good fun.
This festival is run by volunteers in a non-profit organisation for the love of music and community spirit.
Genres of music will include rock, folk, traditional, world music, rap, soul jazz, classical and much more.
It will be a platform for over 50 bands to perform with the best of sound equipment and sound engineers.
Submission forms can be found on the festival website with musicians, volunteers and sponsors asked to submit their information as early as possible.
Last year’s committee also donated money back into the community by donating to the church and the local Muintreas group.
