All routes lead to the Moat Theatre later this month for a variety concert created by a mix of local talent.
Members of The Moat Club, Naas Musical Society, Newbridge Musical Society and Clane Musical Society have collaborated to put together “Showstoppers” under the direction of Mona Conroy to raise funds for a local charity.
The Friends of Naas Hospital was set up as a fundraising committee over 25 years ago and over the years has raised some €1 million towards equipment to enhance patient care at the hospital. It helped set up a service for oncology patients and raised money for the stroke rehabilitation service.
The group has also contributed to patient comfort at the hospital, through its library service as well as other initiatives.
The show takes place on Wednesday and Thursday August 20 and 21 at 8.30pm in the Moat Theatre. There will be special appearances from soprano Norah King and Josie Byrne and dancing from Johnny Conroy Randall, who is a pupil at the Royal Ballet in London. Many well known faces from the stage, both dramatic and musical, will take part. It promises to be an entertaining night. Tickets are available from the Moat Theatre (883030).
