KILL musician David Burke’s debut single – ‘LOVE HATE’- was released on November 2 and went straight to No.1 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts knocking Ed Sheeran off the top spot.
It also reached No. 18 in the overall iTunes singles charts.
From Greenhills, Kill, David attended Kill national school and Naas CBS.
He received a scholarship to study business & legal studies in UCD where he attained a first class honours degree. “I have busked my way from Dublin to New York to L.A. and guested with artists including Wallis Bird, Declan O’Rourke, Alabama Three and the Hot House Flowers. Now I feel the time is right to set the ball rolling with my own release,” said David.
He recorded the album in Wales, London and Dublin and among the highlights the recordings are staying up until the early hours writing music on the same piano Freddie Mercury played during the ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ sessions.
He recorded record 4 songs with the string orchestrator and players from ‘Back to Black.’David and his band will play live in the Dew Drop Inn, Kill, on Friday, December 21 (doors 8pm). Tickets cost E10 and are on sale now at the venue and Jam Music store, Naas. The gig will also feature other songs from his forthcoming debut album (due out in Spring 2013) together with a festive song or two!
