The dynamic duo behind an award winning local photography studio in Newbridge have set their sights on the international stage as instructors in the US, Australia, France, Brazil and Canada.
Padraic and Sonia Deasy are just back from their third photography workshop in the US, and are already preparing for their next series of sessions across the USA and Canada, lined up in early 2014.
Their September Masterclass in Chicago was their 23rd international tour, right after their extremely successful Australia tour in August. In these workshops, Padraic and Sonia share practical advice about running a photography studio and teach unique studio lighting techniques to professional photographers.
Padraic is the second generation at the helm of Deasy Photographic, an award winning portrait studio on Cutlery Road, established by his father Pat in 1981.
It is poised to enter its 33rd year in the photography business soon, and has transformed from a general photography studio, to become Ireland’s leading specialised boutique portrait studio. Over the years, it has successfully adapted to changing market conditions and industry demands.
Padraic, who joined the buisiness back in 1990 feels that teaching photography and the business of photography, improves their business.
“We have found this to be an invaluable tool and in doing so, have been blessed to meet some of the best photographers in the world.” said Padraic, who along with Sonia has five young children.
Next on their busy schedule is a number of upcoming workshops lined up in Phoenix, Las Vegas and then Canada. They have also created a strong online photography community with whom they share photography related tips, trends, techniques.
