The orchestra performed at Swan’s of the Green, Fairgreen, Naas, giving the public a taste of their talents.

The orchestra was established by the Naas Music School, established 14 years ago to teaching young people to play musical instruments covering piano, strings and brass instruments.

There are two divisions of the NYO - Junior Strings, for children learning how to play in an orchestra and Advanced Strings, which has active performers in a String Chamber Orchestra.

The latter group perform at local festivals and they will be appearing in Newbridge College on July 19 as part of the Hopkins International Festival (8pm).

Members have toured abroad in China and Abu Dhabi, with the National Youth Orchestra and visitors have come from aboard to perform with the NYO as guests.
