Moat Carnival to thrill in Naas this weekend

The Moat Performing Arts Carnival starts next weekend witha riot of colour, noise and entertainment.

On Friday June 29 there will be a parade (2pm) through the town followed by Jack Flash, juggling and comedy (3pm), drumming (4pm) and a puppet show, storytelling at St. David’s Church and markets at Moat Lane and Superquinn (5pm).

On Saturday June 30 Jack Flash will be back at the Courthouse (12.30pm), meet the Giant and a duck Race at the harbour (1.30pm). Follow The Yellow Brick Road in search of The Wizard from the Harbour; come in Fancy Dress and you might win a prize (2.30pm).

There will also be a Circus Skill workshop at the Moat (3.30pm); Mary Power Cooney’s Theatrics Kids will be at the Moat Mall.

A puppet show with the Kids Part Club is scheduled for 4pm at Poplar Square. At 4.30pm the Chalk Champ continues back at the Courthouse where Mona Conroy’s Juniors will enthrall.

All the time the music plays, jugglers juggle, fire throwing continues, and the Pantoland People are everywhere.

On Sunday there will be cycle along the canal at 11.30am. At 1pm join the Barley Mob for brunch and prizegiving at the Moat Theatre which is the venue for a talent contest at 2.30pm.
