Lots of well known and local musicians and singers gathered regularly to play and enjoy music and song, including Donal Lunny, Christy Moore, Members of The Dubliners, The Furey’s and their father Ted, Liam Og O’Flynn and many more.
Festival chairman Ger Boland told the Leinster Leader that 50 acts have now been booked for the event.
At 2.30 this coming Saturday, the Mayor officially open the festival office to the public. The office is part of the Dowling’s Pub building.
At the moment the committee is running various fundraisers as well as looking for volunteers for the weekend.
“With over 50 bands, numerous stages, family areas, and special events the festival is need of a large amount of volunteers for all our plans to take place,” Mr. Boland explained. “Health and safety is our primary concern as we are aiming for a safe and fun festival.”
