According to Labhaoise McGrane and Aengus Morrin of Specsavers Naas, the party offers an opportunity to "get involved in an initiative that's at the heart of the Naas community."
The club has been organising the annual party for the past five year
s and this year's event will include tunnels, grottos, selection boxes, face-painting – even Santa Claus has promised to make an appearance.
One of the organisers of the party, Deirdre Shaw will enable the creation of a Winter Wonderland theme.
Parents will provide the gifts and Santa will distribute them. In the interests of parity parents are asked to ensure that each present costs no more than n10.
The parcels must be wrapped and clearly labelled and in cases where more than one child from a family is attending, all of the presents must be placed in a black bag, sealed and the surname and address of the children displayed on the outside of the bag.
To facilitate the organisers the presents must be brought to the clubhouse on Tuesday December 1 between 8 and 10 pm and between these times only. A committee member will be there to provide information about the events of the day.
Children will visit between 3 and 5 pm and Santa will arrive at 2.45. Entertainment will be provided in the form of facepainting and a disco.
The organising committee club members also include are Caroline Healy, Tony Murphy, Letitia Foley, Geraldine Nolan, Una O'Brien and Bernie Aherne.
Those intending are asked to complete and return forms (available at the club) by Monday December 23.
