A small sum of cash was stolen from the village newsagent's shop premises in Coill Dubh village shortly before 8 o'clock on Tuesday evening.
Two men entered the premises at 7.45 and made off with money from the till.

Gardai believe one of the men was armed with a shotgun and the second had an iron bar. Both culprits wore balaclavas during the incident.

No injuries were reported and it is not yet clear how they left the area. Gardai at Robertstown (phone 045-860202) are investigating.
