OBJECTIONS:
The Celbridge Action Alliance has recently reminded local residents that time is running out for those who wish to lodge an objection to the planned road bridge to span the Liffey from the Castletown gates area at the end of the Main Street.
Planning permission for this project was received by Kildare Co. Council in last June. Celbridge Action Alliance believes that the proposed bridge, if constructed, would facilitate a high-rise extension of Celbridge in the Donacomper area across the river.
Amongst other concerns voiced by the Action Alliance are that the rural setting of Castletown gates and Christ Church would be lost and that serious traffic problems would be generated. Formal written objections to the plan must be lodged with the Planning Office of Kildare Co. Council by Tuesday March 16. The planning reference number is 09/665 and there is a fee of n20.
