In March of this year Kathleen Cash of Tir Na nOg Childcare Centre in Athy was presented with the ‘All-Ireland Centre of Excellence Award’ by Jonathon Bell, the Junior Minister in the Office of the First Minister and the Deputy First Minister for Northern Ireland, writes Lisa Deeney.

Kathleen and her staff celebrated this achievement in the Clanard Court recently. “It was a great honour to receive this award as there are only three services in Ireland, which can claim four consecutive awards,” she said.

Tir Na nOg Childcare Centre began as a small business in 1996 with two staff members and six families. “It has grown and developed through the forward and positive thinking of the enterprising owner and the sheer commitment of the staff to provide the very best quality of care for the young children of Athy and its surrounding area,” Ms Cash added.

Ms Cash hosted an evening in the Clanard Hotel recently to celebrate her staff team, family and friends and last but not least families, current and past, who have been part of this success story.
