SOME thirteen local schools took part in the Naas Credit Union national schools table quiz competition.

The Naas area event took place at Piper’s Hill College and each participating school had two teams representing them – one in the under 11 category and another in the under 13 competition.

There was a dozen rounds of six questions followed and Felim MacDonagh had to ask two tie break questions to separate Rathmore National School and the St Corban’s Naas teams in the under 11 category.

Tim Ryan, Director of Naas Credit Union presented the children with their plaques and prizes. St Corban’s school, Rathmore National School and Two Mile House National School were the winners in the under 11 age category while St Corban’s school, Two Mile House school and and Caragh school succeeded in the under 13 age group.

St Corban’s NS will now go on to represent their school and Naas Credit union at Chapter (regional) Level in both age categories in March.

A quiz question sheet was also handed out to all the parents attending and congratulations to Rionagh McNamara who won the parents prize.

There was a very competitive element to the quiz and all the children showed an excellent level of knowledge.

Many thanks to all the teachers and students’ families for their support.
