SO far, some €3,700 has been collected from a fundraising event held in Naas last month (September 16). Over 100 adults and about 30 children took part in the Naas 7km fun run/walk in aid of Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland. Attired in red t-shirts the entourage made their way initially along Newbridge Road.

The event was primarlily about raising funds and getting a bit of exercise but for some it was a little more competitive.

The first 3 men home were Joe Kane (1st), Dan Cronin (2nd) and Paul Dunne (3rd).

This was the second year in a row that Dan and Paul came home in second and third place. Jacinta Murtagh was the first fem ale contestant to finish, followed by Anita Fitzpatrick in second and Kerstin Bartels-Shortt. All of the participants received guest passes for Killashee Leisure. Emma Sharpe won one year’s free membership.

On behalf of Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland, Naas woman Grainne McGrath organised the event and thanked Killashee Leisure and everybody who came along on the day or who provided sponsorship. The inaugural event last year and raised €9,300.
