One of Naas’ leading public houses, William McCormack’s, celebrated its 100 year anniversary recently.
And it was marked by proprietors Bill and son Conor with a weekend of celebration.
McCormack’s, as the pub is now more commonly known, is a part of the history of Naas. The pub has evolved considerably the past 100 years - from when customers could purchase a pig and a shot of whiskey over the same counter. A “Memory Book” has been launched on McCormack’s facebook page asking customers to share their most outstanding memories.
A weekend long celebration themed “Bill’s Eclectic Picnic” featured a full programme of live music, food and entertainment enjoyed by residents and visitors to Naas. The McCormack family will also make charitable donations to St.Vincent de Paul and St. Luke’s Hospital, Rathgar in celebration of 100 years of business.
“The weekend was a great success and thanks especially to all our customers down through the century and we are looking forward to celebrating more milestone occasions,” said Conor.
