Culture night starts this evening, Friday, September 21.

This evening Friday, 21 September sees the county host its third annual Culture Night. Cultural organisations and venues across Kildare will open to the public for a night of free entertainment and discovery.

Over 40 events will take place on Friday and across the weekend, with a wide range of activities available. You can record your own song in the Platform4 Audio and Media Studio in Leixlip or join a bat walk or bird watching group in Donadea Forest Park.

The Steam Museum in Straffan is hosting a storytelling evening or you can learn about the art of printing and make your very own print at the Leinster Printmaking Studio in Clane.

At the Curragh Camp, the Military Museum will have an outdoor display of equipment from years gone by. To round off the weekend, you could go to K Leisure in Naas or Athy to avail of a free gym and swim session on Sunday.

Film screenings, lectures, galleries and many more events mean that there will be something for everyone.

Places are limited for many events are limited and some require prior booking. Culture Night programmes are available for download at www.kildare.ie/culturenight or at libraries around the county.
