Foróige Clubs from all over Kildare came together recently to showcase the talent of their members and fight it out to be Kildare Foróige’s Got Talent Champions.

The event, which was held in Allenwood GAA, saw 14 acts battling it out on the night with performances including hip hop dancing, traditional irish dancing, poetry, solo, duets and group vocal performances.

The judging panel with the difficult job of picking the top two acts included Leish Burke from Griese Youth Theatre, Louise Coghlan from Ceoil PR and Clara Delvin from Carmelite Youth Choir.

The event was organised by Kildare District Council of Foróige, who have expressed their gratitude to all of the judges, Allenwood GAA, as well as the members, leaders and parents who attended.

“And we want to congratulate all of the fourteen acts in their amazing performances!” a spokesperson explained.

“The top two acts on the nights were Deann Somers who sang Summertrain and the Girl Group GEMS which includes Grainne O Keeffe, Ellen Kenny, Megan Clancy and Keelin Sadlier.

Both acts will go on to represent Kildare in Foróige’s Got Talent Extravaganza in Blanchardtown on Saturday, June 9.
