Launch of Newbridge 200 business start-up competition

The Newbridge 200 Business Start-up Competition was officially launched at Newbridge Credit Union last Tuesday night, May 22, by former Dragon’s Den judge and presidential candidate Sean Gallagher.

The competition is open to anyone in Kildare who has started a new business in the past 12 months, and the prize is a support and service package worth E50,000 for the winner.

There was a large turn out for the event. Paul O’Kelly and Pat Sutton from event sponsors O’Kelly Sutton, Kildare town-based chartered accountants and business advisors, were the key note speakers.

Sean Gallagher spoke for over half an hour about what it takes to succeed in business. Pat Sutton, Partner and Head of Finance at O’Kelly Sutton outlined the competition details. He explained that the closing date for entry is 5.00pm on 15 July next. Application forms can be downloaded from websites www.newbridge200.com, www.okellysutton.ie and www.newbridgechamber.ie.
