Free service for unemployed

Co Kildare Local Employment Service Network, 3 Bride Street, Kildare Town, can help those who are unemployed.

We can help, providing a free Career Guidance and Support Service, help you with the skills and confidence you need to get back to work. You can also receive help with CV Preparation, Letters of Application and Interview Skills.

We also operate an information service with details of employment and training opportunities in your locality and other employment related issues. You can access the FÁS Jobs Ireland database on our touch screen computers.

Country Market

Kildare Country Market takes place on Thursdays from 10am to 12 midday, with a selection of home baking, jams, marmalade, ree range eggs, seasonal vegetables and locally produced crafts.

Bus to Knock

The C M.W.S. Kildare are running a bus from Kildare to Knock on Sunday May 13th leaving the haqll at 9am and returning after the ceremonies.

Return fare E15 euro payable at John Gleeson Motor Factors Station Road Kildare on or before April 25th.

This is fare only.

NCBI shop

The NCBI (National Council for the Blind in Ireland) shop is under new management. The new opening hours for the shop, located off Market Square, are 9.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday. All donations are gratefully received. The shop stocks ladies, gents and children’s wear, shoes and handbags, bric-a-brac, books and toys. Volunteers are also needed to help out in the shop. Old phones

Sensational Kids is asking for donations of old mobile phones to get an I Pad for use by the therapy team who work with children with special needs at the charity’s child development and learning centre. The charity is aiming to collect 165 old mobile phones which will enable them to obtain an I-Pad in exchange for recycling the phones. Old mobile phones can be dropped into to posted to Sensational Kids at Unit F2 Kildare Business Park, Melitta Road, Kildare Town . Sensational Kids can be contacted by phone on 045 520900

Bowls

Practice every Monday and Thursday in the CMWS hall from 7to 9 pm.

Plans are well advanced for the forthcoming charity day of indoor bowling to be held in Ryston by kind permission on May 20th. This is the third year of this wonderful event and over E10,000 has been raised over the last two years. Further details later.

Kildare town bowlers have added yet another string to their bow when they defeated Naas in the final of the club championship held in Ryston on Sunday April 29th. There were 12 players on each team.

Badminton club members

Kildare CMWS Badminton Club are seeking new members. The Club meets in the New Kildare Town Community School Dunmurry Road Kildare on four full size courts. Secondary School Students from 6pm to 7 pm (Limited places available).

Adults; 7 pm to 10 pm, Cost €5 per evening you attend.Coaching available.

Kildare Derby Festival

This year KDF is re-launching it with a strong emphasis on Family and Community Events. With this in mind we would like to invite all organisations and clubs to run an event during the week of the festival and would be open to any ideas you may have.

Rehab Social Dancing

Social Dancing starts in the newly re-vamped Dowlings of Prosperous each Wednesday and Saturday night in aid of REHAB. Dancing Wednesday.
