Sympathy

Sympathy is extended to relatives and friends of Tom Bailey, Clonshambo. Burial was in Mainham Cemetery, also to Breda Kiely, Connaught Street on the death of her aunt Bridgie Moran, Derrymullen, Allenwood. Burial took place in Allen cemetery. “Ar Ndheis de go raibh siad”.

Up in Smoke

The old vacant Leaf Factory was destroyed by fire on Monday 16th April. The fire was noticed at around 7.30pm and four units of the fire brigade services until after midnight to bring it under control. The Gardai are not as yet treating the incident as arson, the incident is under investigation. It is under stood that three youths were seen leaving the site prior to the fire been discovered.

Daffodil Day

The organisers of Kilcock Daffodil Day have received a further €320 which included €225 raised in Shalom Nursing Home. This has been lodged to the Irish Cancer Society’s account which brings the total amount raised this year to €3,846,28. Well done to one and all.

Whizz team

Well done and best wishes to Kilcock’s u.14 boys quiz team who won the Community Games County Final. The boys will represent both Kildare and Kilcock in the National Finals which will be held in Athlone. in May.

SWIMMING FINALS. The Community Games swimming finals takes place in Athy on the 9th June. All entries must be submitted by 10th May. For more information contact 087-1312904.

Presentation to Lollipop Lady

The parents council of Scoil Choca Naofa made special presentation to retired “lollipop Lady” Carmel Reilly, Ballycahan who recently retored after 40 years of crossing children and adults to and back from both school and church. Carmel will always be known for her cheery smile and friendly word for the young and not so young.

Big Win

Congratulations to Jane Staunton L’Horizon shop the Square ,Kilcock. Jane won the €15.000 in the Kilcock- Newtown Parish Lotto. The winning numbers were 1.6.8.16. The ticket was sold by Mena Curran. Next Jackpot €10.000
